A gigantic pyramid in the middle of Vegas with a great big light on the top. Set at the south end of the strip between the Mandalay Bay and the Excalibur, there is no missing this place. With over 4000 rooms, a 120,000 sq ft casino and lots more the property has to be getting on for one of the largest on the strip

Rooms:

Deluxe Rooms are average size but if you want to be in the pyramid tower they seem smaller due to the sloping windows, deluxe rooms come with TVs, radio alarms and a coffee machine and pretty comfy beds and a table and chairs by the window so you can sit and watch the planes taking off from the airport close by. The bathrooms are not the biggest and only come with a bath/shower combo. If you like a bit more space try to upgrade to a spa suite, they are a lot bigger, have a separate sitting room and a Jacuzzi bath. Make sure you specify which tower you wish to stay in when you book, other wise it is simply pot luck. Freebies are much fancier in the suites, you get just about everything you’ll ever need, and guest room’s freebies however are basic.

Casino:

Big and disorientating, I lost my way more than a few times, with all this space they can offer you all the table games you could ever think of and more but they come at a premium, you won’t find one with a minimum under $15 and on busier times they go up. Plenty of slots here too, like most places you can play from a nickel up, be warned, most people we spoke to said they are really tight. Cocktails are good and if you are a good tipper you’ll get really well looked after and leave well and truly sozzled.

Dining:

They have plenty of choice, including a food court where you will find all the usual high street suspects such as Mc Donald’s, Quizno’s and Starbucks.

Company American Bistro has contempory American classics and stays open until 4am. Fusia boasts new Chinese cuisine (not quite sure what that means, they have dishes of twice cooked duck on the menu, if that makes it clearer). The Luxor Steak house Has some great treats for all you meat feasters, Steaks, Chops and chicken, it’s a little bit pricey and gets busy but worth a trip.

Overall:

Gets a bit noisy being so close to the airport, but a fun place to stay.
