»Full of business types
On Arrival, This place probably has the biggest sign in Vegas, you can see it from miles away, so don’t worry about forgetting where it is, The Hilton is a well priced and fairly good resort, it may not be quite as plush as some of the new comers to the strip but it deffinately gives them a run for their money when it comes to value. It boast over 2 million guest a year and with the high levels of service you get here you can understand why. With a 1600 seat theatre staring crooners like Tony Bennet and Barry Manilo and their own convention centre, it has plenty to offer both the business traveller and all you thirtysomethings, especially if you are a bit of a trekkie (check out the Space Quest Casino)
Rooms:
There is more choice than you know what to do with when booking, so my advice is just make sure you get a refurbished one, all the rooms are good a size, but the newer rooms have nicer beds and linen to match, you’ll get all you’d expect inside, TV, Iron and ironing board and hair dryers but safes come with a daily charge. You also get a small sofa and a desk / table with a comfy chair. The bathrooms aren’t much to shout about, they are clean and have everything you need, they have good top end freebies like shampoo and conditioner but they are a bit tight when it comes to giving them out.
Casino:
For the size of the resort the casino at the hilton is small, a mere 40,000sq ft but it offers everything you’ll want to play and the service is good. At quieter times you’ll find table minimums of $5 but if there is a convention on expect them to be very high. You can play the slots form a penny upwards. If you are a star trek fan give the Space quest casino a visit, you can even get your picture taken with a Klingon or at least I think that’s what it was. Cocktails are good here but don’t expect to get drunk on the cheap as they are few and far between.
Dining:
50% of the restaurants are dedicated to far eastern cuisine so I hope you like this kind of food, they have 888 Noodle Bar, Benihana, Garden of the Dragon and Teru Sushi, they are all pretty good value for money. If you crave something else there is the Hilton Steak house, it offers prime cuts in an intimate setting or for something with a Italian feel Andiamo has a menu from Northern Italy and an open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs hard at it. The Margarita Grill cooks up Mexican classics and carrying on the Trekkie theme, you can be served burgers in Quark’s Bar by Klingons.
Overall:
Full of business types, the Las Vegas Hilton isn’t as much fun as its rivals but the rooms are well priced and the service is good.
