With 4049 rooms The Venetian is amongst the big boys in Las Vegas, I’m not a big fan of Resorts that try and take you to a different country, but the Venetian does a pretty good job, once you have past all the gondolas and Italian styled facades you enter one of the most amazing hotels in town. The public areas have the most amazing architecture and the ceilings are breath taking. The staff are very helpful and the service here is top class. Everyone you talk to are repeat visitors and they all rave about the place.

Rooms:

Big and impressive, you have 650 sq ft to play in when you enter your room at the Venetian. Tastefully decorated, with two queen beds and a rather large plasma TV on the wall you know you are staying in a top resort, walk past the beds and you enter a sunken living room with another plasma screen TV, desk with fax and copier, electric blinds, a table and plenty of comfy chairs.

The bathroom is again on an impressive scale, with a great big bath and separate shower, flat screen TV and enough freebies to see you into next year.

Gaming:

With 120,000sq ft to play with, there’s nothing missing from the Venetians casino, you can play pretty much any table game and there is what seems like thousands of slot machines. Table minimums are a fairly reasonable $10-$15 but they do go up at peak times and you can play the slots for just a penny to $500. The waitresses are friendly and the service is good,

Dining:

As to be expected from a resort of this size there are restaurants galore and even more in the shopping arcades.

Aqua Knox has a Californian inspired seafood menu; this place gets busy so we recommend you make a reservation.

Canaletto has a wonderful menu from northeast Italy, they offer both a lunchtime and evening menus and prices are not sky high. If you fancy a steak then give Delmonico Steakhouse a try.

Lutece opens daily from 5.30pm, has an amazing choice of finest wines to compliment its modern French menu.

I’m a sucker for my Asian cuisine and Noodle Asia doesn’t disappoint, they have vegetarian dishes and great noodles, the portions are good and not over priced.

Postrio has a contempory American menu with both Asian and European influences. Royal Star is a winner for all you sake experts they have a wide selection to choose from to go with their pan Asian offerings.

TAO, for a minute I thought I was in the Buddha Bar in Paris, you dine under the watchful eye of a 20-foot tall statue of Buddha, the Asian menu is extensive and it has a warm atmosphere.

There are two more Italians to choose from Valentino which opens at 5.30 and Zefferino who open from 11.30am, with great seafood, it certainly is popular so make sure you book a table.

Overall:

If you are out to impress, the Venetian is the hotel for you.
